“The path that one person follows is not the correct path for any other person.
Each of us must walk his own path to enlightenment— that is the way.”
Wu Wei, I Ching
TCM & Five Element Acupuncturist –BSc (Hons), LicAc
Since qualifying in 2008 from the renowned College of Integrated Chinese Medicine, I have been passionate about practising acupuncture in clinics across Buckinghamshire, within the beautiful Chiltern hills.
I enjoy the integrated approach to treatment that my training provided, supporting both Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) and the Five Element model of diagnosis. I have always been interested in health and wellness and embarked upon my acupuncture degree after receiving treatment 20 years ago. I was so impressed by the positive results to my health and wellbeing, that it inspired me to change my then career path and study acupuncture.
Over the years, I have developed a special interest in treating women’s health concerns and how this can impact them at different times in their life. In practice I treat a wide variety of conditions, assisting both men and women.
After qualifying I spent some years working with patients in the Cancer care unit at Stoke Mandeville hospital, providing relief from the side effects of their treatment. I completed further studies in this area during my time there.
I strongly believe in the importance of incorporating dietary and lifestyle advice into the treatment process when required. I use a Chinese dietary approach, which focuses on the ‘energetics’ of food and how this impacts you as an individual. Where appropriate I offer lifestyle advice specific to your needs, to further benefit you alongside the acupuncture.
In my spare time I like to spend time with friends and family, walk in nature and find new and nutritious recipes to cook.
As well as teaching and practising Tai chi & Qigong, I am a keen practitioner of yoga and meditation.
Over the years I have completed further training in specific areas, keeping up to date with the latest techniques and standards:
- Acupuncture in Obstetrics and Gynaecology
- Acupuncture for Fertility – IVF/IUI/ICSI
- Chinese Medicine and Dietary Therapy
- Facial Enhancement Acupuncture
- Electro Acupuncture for Musculoskeletal problems
- Cancer Care – Rehabilitation & Renewal
- Qigong and Tai Chi training and workshops
- BAcC – The British Acupuncture Council, the largest governing body for traditional acupuncture.
- FEA – Facial Enhance
- AFN – The Acupuncture Fertility Network
- TCGB – Tai Chi Union for Great Britain
The BAcC has strict codes of safe practice & professional conduct. These codes ensure that patients are offered the highest standards of professional care during their treatment with me. The organisation is also accredited to the PSA – Professional Standards Authority.
I am fully insured and complete 30 hours of CPD (Continuing Professional Development) per year to further skills acquired.
